Instructions for laying floor coverings
Recommendation for laying Alpine Floor SPC (stone-polymer tiles) with a classic click-lock and adhesive connection.
Before starting work, carefully read the full installation instructions posted on the website, and within a few hours you will be able to enjoy a high-quality, ultra-modern, and most importantly durable floor!
Alpine Floor is intended for temperature-controlled indoor environments - not suitable for outdoor installations: unglazed and unheated terraces, verandas, caravans, boats, vans, solariums, saunas, permanently flooded areas, swimming pool bowls, steps.
It is not recommended for use in rooms with intense mechanical stress, constant exposure to abrasive particles, fuels and lubricants, solvents, fats and oils: auto repair shops, warehouses, printing houses.
Alpine Floor flooring is free-standing. Mounted in a floating manner.
Attention! Do not attach tiles to the base in an inappropriate way:
- don't glue
- don't nail it
- do not fasten with bolts and screws
- do not press against built-in or heavy furniture plumbing fixtures
Door frames should not press the covering to the base.
Failure to comply with this paragraph will lead to deformation of the material and its further unsuitability.
Important! When installing Alpine Floor tiles on an improperly prepared base, cases of deformation may occur.
An example of such bases may be wet ones:
- semi-dry screeds containing aggressive chemicals
- screeds mixed with modified Portland cement with a large number of chemical additives (expansion regulators, accelerators and catalysts, TDA: triethanolamine, calcium salts of modified ligosulfonic acid)
To protect your health and protect you and your clients from troubles that arise through the use of low-quality dry mixes and cements when preparing the foundation
WE RECOMMEND to adhere to the following simple rules:
- Dry thick screeds for 40 days at a temperature of at least 18 C°. The drying time for thin self-leveling screeds will be at least 30 days, at a temperature of at least 18 C°
- Use a specialized hydro-vapor barrier film with a thickness of at least 200 microns. The film is laid with an overlap of 150 mm at the seams, extending onto the walls by approximately 30 mm. All seams are taped.
The film under the floor covering acts as a friction reducer during movements during the expansion and contraction of the material under temperature influences, additionally protecting the interior spaces from the smell of cement and cement dust.
Along the perimeter between the flooring and the walls, as well as at the joints with other finishing materials, leave at least 0.8-1 cm of clearance for thermal expansion of the vinyl flooring
The floor can be used immediately after the floor covering has been completely installed.
To protect Alpine Floor coverings from dirt and abrasive wear when entering interior spaces, it is recommended:
- lay hard-pile mats and/or soft-pile catch mats, or a special protective floor mat
- install protective pads on furniture legs
Note: Take precautions when assembling and moving furniture.
In order to prevent damage to the surface, during assembly it is necessary:
- cover the surface with thick cardboard, MDF (or any other similar dense material)
Check furniture legs and plastic pads for ingrained sand grains by replacing felt pads regularly.
Control the area of contact between furniture legs and flooring
- if it is less than 5 cm2, it is necessary to use load-distributing platforms
- dense plastic mats that increase the contact area of the nozzle
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight on Alpine Floor.
Protect the coating from overheating and fading by using curtains or blinds.
